Are you curious about using a Telegram crypto bot, but are worried if they’re legit?

You’re smart to be skeptical. There are lots of Telegram bots for crypto that will, at best, waste your time and, at worst, steal your stuff. Here’s a simple guide to help you avoid the scammy crypto Telegram bots and find the ones that’ll actually help you make money with crypto.

What are crypto Telegram bots?

A bot basically helps you do something automatically, so you can save time or jump on opportunities quickly. People use Telegram crypto bots to get updates on their own crypto investments and what’s happening in the crypto world, right on their phone, so they don’t miss out on anything. Since crypto is 24/7 (unlike the stock market) the fear of missing out (FOMO) is real.

Unfortunately, there are lots of crypto Telegram bots out there that will take your money instead of helping you make it 😭 I’ll go over some red flags to look out for, but a good rule of thumb is to look for bots from reputable companies or individuals, and avoid bots that ask for lots of personal information or sound too good to be true.

Let’s go over the three kinds of crypto telegram bots you’re most likely to come across, and how to identify the best ones.

Crypto Farming Telegram Bots

Crypto farming bots help you with staking or providing liquidity to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols with your tokens, so you can earn rewards in the form of the protocol's native token or another cryptocurrency. It’s a lot like depositing your money in a bank savings account and earning interest.

😇 The best Telegram crypto farming bots will give you a list of relevant farming opportunities, based on what tokens you’re already holding.

For example, this Uniswap New Pool Telegram Bot will alert you when a new liquidity pool is created so you get in on the action early, before the pool becomes too crowded and liquid, and/or take advantage of any arbitrage opportunities that might exist between the new pool and other exchanges. You can get alerts for all new pools, or only pools with a specific token you hold and want to farm.

Good crypto farming bots will also track your farming progress and provide you with regular updates on your earnings. (request link)

👿 The worst Telegram crypto farming bots will encourage you to connect your wallet or share your seed phrase and next thing you know, your wallet is drained.

Crypto Mining Telegram Bots

These bots help you mine crypto using the computing power of your device (usually your phone) that you manage through Telegram.

The bot typically connects you to a mining pool, which is a group of miners who pool their resources to increase their chances of mining a block and receiving a reward. Then it provides you with a link to download mining software, which in theory, will use the computing power of your device to validate blockchain transactions on the blockchain and earn rewards in the form of the cryptocurrency that you are mining.

👿 These are the absolute worst crypto Telegram bots because they’re so ripe for hacking. They’ll simply have you download software that drains your wallet. Don’t fall for this trap! If you want to earn crypto by mining, it’s much safer to do it without Telegram as an intermediary.

Crypto Investment Telegram Bots

Crypto investment bots (aka crypto trading bots) generally help you stay on top of your investments and make informed trading decisions by:

  1. Sending you price alerts for specific coins, so you know when a coin reaches a certain price threshold and can decide whether to buy, sell, or hold.

  2. Providing trading signals based on technical analysis or market data, so you get wind of potential buying or selling opportunities.

  3. Tracking the performance of your cryptocurrency portfolio, so you can see how your investments in cryptocurrency trading are doing over time.

  4. Automating your trading strategies, using pre-set rules or algorithms. This is a game changer if you want to take advantage of market opportunities even when you’re not actively monitoring the market.

😇 The best crypto trading bots will let you set up your own custom alerts based on your own research and goals. Let’s be real - there’s simply no one-size-fits-all investment advice; if there was, everyone would be rich off of crypto trading already.

Here are a few good starting points:

👿 The worst trading bots will promote certain coins or tokens as being undervalued or poised for growth, based on their own research. This can easily lead you into a pump and dump scheme: once the price of the coin rises due to increased demand, the scammers sell theirs, causing the price to crash and leaving other investors (you!) with losses.

The other thing to watch out for here are phishing scams: Some crypto trading bots may send phishing messages that appear to be from legitimate sources, such as cryptocurrency exchanges or wallets, but are actually designed to steal your login credentials or other sensitive information.
